I'm done paying 80 bucks at the hairdresser to get my hair bleached. Now I'm doing it myself!
For this first try, I've used "Syoss 13_5 platinum". I must say I'm quite happy with the result, it's very similar to the result I'd get at the hairdresser.
Despite following the instructions, here's what I wish I had known beforehand
- Wear old clothes that you don't care about much
- Blow air in your face using a fan and open the windows, as the product stinks heavily (breathing it is maybe not a good thing...)
- The product is going to splash while you lay it on your head! Put away toothbrushes and other items
- Using two opposite mirrors helps a lot
- For dark hair like mine, even though the instructions say not to leave the product on for longer than 45 mins, I ended up doing 2 rounds of bleaching, each between 45 mins and an hour long. After a single round, my hair was still very orange-ish.
